OUR BEGINNINGS

It has been said that pearls are like a metaphor for life ... that as the pearl creates something beautiful out of "the crisis" in its life (a grain of sand), so can we make something beautiful out of the trials and tribulations in our own lives. My name is Jennifer and I am an American who resided in Fiji from 1987 to 2006. I had my own crisis in 1999 when my husband and I separated. It was around this time that I first began designing and making freshwater pearl jewellery as a hobby with my daughter, Lauren. I am a Christian. After a tremendous amount of thought, prayer and fasting (and a lot of hard work!), I decided to formalize the business in 2005. I never dreamed that it would make enough money to support me and my family but something that is God-inspired has no limitations. I am amazed as I share with you that this business actually took me around the world six times in the first 18 months and ended up employing nine other women. And through it, I also met my new husband and have now moved to New Zealand and have launched a second business here. You can see our beautiful freshwater pearl jewellery creations in many of the resorts in Fiji, art galleries and boutiques of New Zealand, and/or by appointment at our showrooms in Lami (Fiji) and in Napier (New Zealand). And thanks to the Internet, you can NOW also see them from anywhere in the world!
